Seems like a good price point to me. If you are looking for a nice stable monthly dividend then this is your stock. If your looking to make a gain on value, look elsewhere.

The stock price has doubled in the past year. The dividend payout is a decent 5.8%, paid monthly. The PE ratio is a very modest 5 against an industrial sector with some really daunting PE ratios.
What's not to like?

great to have, good to hold. No apparent downside to adding, even.

Thanks for your info and opinion. I also think the reason it started down trending was whenever that proxy vote comes up to dilute our shares, shareholders get upset and dump. All BDCs do it and most slit their own throats when they do it too many times. TICC is a good example. Luckily, or maybe it was planned but they beat their quarter estimates right after they brought up the shares they wanted to sell under nav to soften the blow, IMO.

NAV at $11.57 so anything you can buy under that is a good deal...
BIG JUMP in NAV this quarter.

So what have we done since 2014 and so on? Well, we've grown our total assets from about $331 million to about $641 million at fair value. The debt portion at cost has grown from about $279 million to almost $442 million, which is what supports the growth in our regular monthly distributions per common share, which went from $0.66 per share in fiscal 2014 to $0.80 per share annual run rate since April of 2018.

The equity portion at cost of our portfolio has grown from about $105 million to about $155 million. Our NAV, net asset value, per share has increased from $8.34 per share to $11.57 over that same period.

GAIN is now a premium to NAV
Think it will be for sometime.
Anything around NAV or just under is a buy for me..

madprophet madprophet 6 years ago
I haven't looked at the short volume...I will go check it out.
A bit high, man no idea why you would be shorting this...

NAV is going up,
Covering dividend,
multiple div raises and added a semi annual payment on top
All in the last 2-3 years.

Been buying in the 6's,7's,8's,9''s and 10's.
Now in the 11's, but only because I have on drip...
If it breaks below NAV again for no real reason
I will sell off some other and buy more till I get my numbers right.
Management wants to keep raising the dividend,
so yeah I am on all aboard till something changes.

Triple top on chart don't help the over impulsive, uptight analysts that trade these markets and freak out because of an anomaly like that but you gotta go deeper. There is a good reason behind it. THEM!
πŸ‘οΈ0
Heavy Horses Heavy Horses 6 years ago
Yes. Profit taking day before earnings release. People were nervous but they beat by 2 cents and numbers were great. Down on 3 times average volume . Good ridance. Price will come right to the $12 area or more with short squeeze next on the agenda. The analysts telling future shareholders stock is overpriced and should wait for it to drop to the $9.30 area will never see that price and the shorts got suckered into their tough spot they are in now thanks to Zacks and Seeking Alpha's people. Anyone agree or disagree please share your views.

Consider investing here - it isn't as flashy as some stocks that are hit or miss 30 per cent in one day but this is just a solid dividend stock that pays monthly. You won't get rich overnight but I am looking at this to hold long term with the potential of a 20-25 per cent return in a year. Looking at an additional dividend payment coming up as well.

Nov Ex div day and it goes up..always nice...

2 divs in Dec!

Just keep the money machine rolling.
Nice monthly divs, and capital appreciation at the same time.
People are now buying this above NAV.

Wonder how long that lasts, or does anybody think this will move into premium high yield territory like MAIN. CRazy over priced, but it keeps going up, hope that will be GAIN, but buying more on any pull back under $10, not sure I will see that happen anytime soon, and if it doesn't, well I am good with that too.

You read the transcripts from the conference call?

Really good stuff, these guys are shooting for being the new MAIN.

We are now PPS above NIL. buying now is paying premium price,
which is good. Nov divy, Dec divy,, and in between is Dec semi annual divy.
Broke $11, pretty nice.

Its a penny stock, and I already have money tied up in another penny stock as a spec play in that range. GAIN is an investment vehicle. SPec stocks are another thing entirely, and sub $1 stocks are from an investment, the vast majority are a gamble, they can offer great returns, but also offer great loss.

Stocks aren't a for sure thing, especially in this bubble we are at right now. I've researched a lot of long term charts.. best for a market correction before getting long stocks. In the mean time I'll trade them

" I'm thinking of getting a small cap growth fund.. the compounding interest is higher, I read it could be in the 10% annum "

You could be in AMFE, which you are bashing instead, with a growth out out of this world, and you are saying you might be happy in a fund with a 10% annum return??

I can GUARANTEE you a positive return over 10% in the next year with AMFE, and you don't hvae to do anything during the year but buy tomorrow and hold. IN fact, probability is that it will be WAY way WAY over 10% in the next year, as they keep crushing revenues and starting good earnings and are already DOING the third opening in weeks, plus franchises, plus games, plus gro3, plus more. Not hype based on words and a "potential" good future, but actually already DOING it.

How do you think? You'd be happy with 10%, but you bash a stock that came out with 5.9 million in revenues on Friday for its first quarter, versus 6 million for ALL of last year? The growth is amazing, it is HAPPENING, instead of hype, and you bash it?? Why? It makes no sense!

If you find one that is great let me know. I can't ever find one I like that pays out anywhere near 10% consistently.
I used to have a couple through the work's 401k program, but my own accounts I do not have any. I simply spread money out across different stocks and sectors. I tend to be fairly active trading.
I look for capital growth and use dividend stocks more like a savings account or holding account between trades. My focus over the next few years
is big capital growth. DIvidends for me are more about preserving capital while still getting a decent return and in a few years the provided income they provide once you own enough of them.

Do you own any mutual funds? I'm thinking of getting a small cap growth fund.. the compounding interest is higher, I read it could be in the 10% annum .. could be even higher depending on market conditions.. and my risk would be spread out better instead of putting too much in a few baskets... what do u think?

It was .06 which they raised to .0633 i want to say back in June, and then Oct 10 PR raised to .065, those payments are set through end of year.
SO no, once they announce that is what it is, all div payments are set through end of 2017.

They do plan on continuing to raise but the how much and when, no idea.
They plan on doing it based on quarterly statements and conference call.

Like you this is a long term play for me. compounding over the long term.

πŸ‘οΈ0
General Grievous General Grievous 7 years ago
So they are increasing the dividend so this next dividend could be significantly higher than .065, correct? I just want to be clear

Those are the dates and payments for the quarter below.
Odd that is is going up today as the ex div date just happened, usually that is a slight drop. I would be on watch for more news,
will it drop? Man who knows,

As far as where is the bottom?
It was about 9.20-9.30, but with div raise, and upcoming extra div
that might be changing and going up. Honestly if you are in it for the div only, just buy you cant hope for better than a company who raised their divs twice this year and paying out 2 extra divs. Their financials are solid, I would bet they have a great quarter, so if wanting to buy, look for any dip but buy in before the quarterly comes up, because they should be good and that is only going to drive it up more.

Common Stock: $0.065 per share of common stock for each of October, November and December 2017, payable per the table below. The Company has paid 147 consecutive monthly cash distributions on its common stock.

Record Date Payment Date Cash Distribution
October 20 October 31 $0.065
November 20 November 30 $0.065
December 5 December 15 $0.06*
December 19 December 29 $0.065
Total for the Quarter: $0.255

πŸ‘οΈ0
General Grievous General Grievous 7 years ago
What is the record date for the extra December divy?

I'm looking for long term as well as divy... where do u think the bottom is?
πŸ‘οΈ0
madprophet madprophet 7 years ago
Well crap, I missed it, haven't been paying attention, just letting this grow, but they just increased the dividend payment.
That is my guess on what is driving this up.
People who are dividend driven can't beat a stock that is increasing their payout twice this year. PLUS semi annual bonus dividends in July and Dec.

A dividend company that will give out multiple months of div payments ahead of time is always a good thing. As the biggest worry for most div investors is concerns over the reduction of the dividend.
πŸ‘οΈ0
madprophet madprophet 7 years ago
Depends on why you own...
If you own for the dividend only, then just buy whenever.
If you want gains as well, I would hold off and wait for a dip.
Just not sure when that dip comes, and this could be people getting in early before the Dec extra divy payment.
πŸ‘οΈ0
General Grievous General Grievous 7 years ago
So should I wait a couple weeks before adding
πŸ‘οΈ0
madprophet madprophet 7 years ago
Yessir!
If you ask me, GAIN is rock solid,
more than cover the dividend easily.
Extra dividend coming up in Dec,
Lately its been slow climb up to around the 9.70-9.80range,
sell off lock in some profits brings it back down, and then it climbs back up.
But I will take a jump up past $10, very nice.
Shut my drip off on this for now, let the divs stack up,
$10 is a bit pricey to buy in, will wait for a drop again, and then put the drip back on...
but GAIN is on a roll right now. Keep the money train moving

πŸ‘οΈ0
General Grievous General Grievous 7 years ago
You think it'll pullback in the next few weeks? Before rallying towards ex dividend date for November? Or will it just keep going up till then? In your opinion
