FORT WORTH, Texas, November 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Elbit Systems of America, LLC and the Logistic Center
Woensdrecht (Netherlands Ministry of Defense) celebrated the
official opening of the Elbit Systems of America Avionics Repair
facility on the Logistics Center Woensdrecht Avionics Depot in a
ceremony at Rhenen, Avionics Cluster the Netherlands. The
presence of this Elbit facility on the Logistics Center depot marks
the official beginning of an agreement signed earlier this year and
is intended to foster growth of the Logistic Center Woensdrecht and
Elbit Systems of America current support capability for The
Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) and other countries.
The Elbit Systems of America and Logistic Center Woenstrecht
partnership is aimed at further improvement of the support of the
RNLAF fleet as well as broadening regional Maintenance, Repair and
Overhaul (MRO) activities with other OEMs to support military and
civilian aircraft in Europe. Elbit
Systems of America has entered into the work share supporting RNLAF
aircraft and performing third party repairs for F-16s and various
other aircraft including helicopters. An integral part of
enhancing regional support for military and civilian aircraft
avionics is increased involvement of the Dutch Industry, including
Elbit Systems of America's long standing relationship with Daedalus
Aviation and a recent teaming agreement between International
Enterprises Incorporated, a division of Elbit Systems America and
Thales Netherlands.
The Logistic Center Woensdrecht is a defense agency and center
of expertise for (air) weapon systems, communication systems and
mission support. The Logistic Center Woensdrecht provides
logistics, system integration, maintenance, repair, overhaul and
upgrade, and supports the operational users and other partners by
creating synergy between its technical and logistical expertise,
both in the Netherlands and
abroad. Elbit Systems of America already provides support to the
RNLAF fleet through a combination of Direct Commercial Sales (DCS)
and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contracts.
-"Adding another facet to our relationship with Elbit Systems of
America ensures we have an industry leader on our team with highly
experienced avionics repair capability and support for our Dutch
aircraft" said Air Commodore Peter Ort, Director of the Logistic
Center Woensdrecht, Directorate of Materiel Organization,
Netherlands Ministry of Defense. "This agreement further improves
the support to the RNLAF and moves us closer to the Dutch
government's vision for a 'Maintenance Valley' that provides for a
'one-stop-shop' regional hub to support military and civilian
aircraft MRO activities."
Elbit Systems of America
President and Chief Executive Officer, Raanan Horowitz, commented, "Elbit Systems of
America is pleased to provide support solutions to the RNLAF. Our
new location at the LCW will enable us to leverage the tremendous
expertise and track record of the depot. The work performed
through this partnership will provide critical mission capability
and reliability to our military partners and help grow the Netherlands plan for a regional MRO and
center of excellence."
