CATC Announces PCI Express(TM) Traffic Generator & Exerciser
Complete Line of PCI Express Protocol Analysis Tools SANTA CLARA,
Calif., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Access
Technology Corporation (CATC) , a leading communications protocol
expert company, today announced the expansion of their industry
leading line of expert PCI Express analyzers with PETrainer(TM), a
PCI Express traffic generator and exerciser, supporting x1 and x4
links. PETrainer works in conjunction with CATC's PETracer(TM) and
PETracer ML expert protocol analysis systems to deliver a
comprehensive analysis and testing solution capable of assisting
developers with early validation of product designs along with
error injection and stress testing in preparation for compliance
testing. PETrainer features script level traffic generation, manual
error injection and extensive exerciser capabilities, including end
point emulation. When used with a CATC PETracer analyzer, the
integrated system allows engineers to generate reliable and
repeatable traffic to concurrently and unobtrusively monitor the
bus, and record and analyze selected traffic. "Having an exerciser
early in the design cycle is key for testing and verifying designs.
The PETrainer system enables engineers to generate legal and
illegal traffic in order to properly validate their solutions,"
stated Fred Rastgar, director of Computing Products for CATC. "We
continue to support our customers with leading test and analysis
systems. In conjunction with the PETracer analyzers, the PETrainer
exerciser rounds out our offering of PCI Express test and analysis
solutions. These systems accelerate our customers time to market,
enabling quick discovery and resolution of logic and design flaws
and assuring protocol compliance and interoperability." PETrainer
utilizes the CATC Universal Protocol Analysis System(TM) (UPAS(TM)
10K), a high bandwidth hardware platform capable of supporting
multi-lane analysis and traffic generation for PCI Express as well
as Fibre Channel, InfiniBand, SAS and Serial ATA. Availability CATC
is accepting orders for the PETrainer with delivery beginning in Q1
of 2004. For further information, please contact CATC or its
worldwide network of distribution partners. About CATC Computer
