Adacel to Provide ADS/CPDLC for French Guiana

Adacel (ASX:ADA), an industry leader in air traffic automation, simulation, speech recognition technology and software integration, announced today it has been awarded a contract by the Directorate of Air Navigation Services of France (DSNA) for the deployment of a demonstration system to provide ADS-C and CPDLC services in Cayenne, French Guiana.

The system will be installed in the Cayenne-Rochambeau Centre which controls an area of 1.5 million square kilometers in the South Atlantic and is adjacent to the oceanic airspaces controlled by Brazil, Senegal, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. The system will be used to evaluate the application of FANS – 1/A ADS-C and CPDLC services in the Rochambeau Flight Information Region (FIR) and to assist in defining a strategy for modernizing the air traffic system in Cayenne.

Speaking of the award, Bill Lang, Adacel’s Vice President Air Traffic Management said, “After more than 15 years of experience in implementing FANS-1/A data link for oceanic air traffic management, we are very pleased to have been tasked by DSNA to assist them with implementing ADS and CPDLC in their area of responsibility in the South Atlantic.”
