Daimler AG (DAI.XE) said Wednesday that its truck business will
establish a new unit to develop automated-driving technology.
The new unit, known as the autonomous technology group, will
focus on research and development, as well as setting up operations
infrastructure for the production of automated trucks, Daimler
said.
Earlier this year the German auto maker presented plans to
invest 500 million euros ($558.9 million) in bringing automated
commercial trucks to the roads within a decade.
