PanAmSat Appoints New Members to Its Board of Directors WILTON, Conn., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PanAmSat Corporation today announced that Chase Carey, president and chief executive officer of Hughes Electronics Corporation, has been appointed to serve as chairman of the board of PanAmSat. Mr. Carey succeeds Jack Shaw who retired as president and chief executive officer of Hughes with the completion of the News Corporation's acquisition of 34 percent of Hughes common stock last December. Previously, Mr. Carey was co-chief operating officer of News Corporation and President and chief executive officer of Sky Global Networks until his resignation in January 2002. He also served as chairman and chief executive officer of the Fox Television Group until 2001. He continued as a member of the Board of Directors of News Corp. and as a consultant to the Company.
