The Company was informed on 26 January 2006 by Hermes Administration Services
Limited ("Hermes") that as at 25 January 2006 the Trustees of the BT Pension
Scheme were interested in 7,197,127 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company
("Ordinary Shares") representing 4.32 per cent. of the issued share capital of
the Company.
