CALGARY, March 13, 2008 - First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. ("FCP" or the "Company")
announces that on March 10, 2008 it was advised that Wellington Management
Company, LLP for the period ended February 29, 2008 controls 24,789,889 common
shares of the Company, representing 9.74% of the common shares issued and
outstanding.



FCP is an oil and gas exploration company actively engaged in international
exploration and development activities in Algeria. The Company's common shares
trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange in Canada (FCP) and on the AIM market of the
London Stock Exchange in the UK (FPL).
