FBD Holdings plc ("FBD") received notification today, 7th April, 2004 that Bank
of Ireland Asset Management Limited has a notifiable interest of 3,802,834
ordinary shares in the capital of FBD representing 9.08 per cent of its issued
share capital. The shares are held on behalf of a range of clients who are each
the beneficial owner of a portion of the shareholding. A breakdown of that
interest between registered holders as required by section 71(3) of the Act is
