FBD Holdings plc ("FBD") received notification on 16th March, 2005 that Bank of
Ireland Asset Management Limited has a notifiable interest of  5,873,343
ordinary shares in the capital of FBD representing 15.56 per cent of its issued
share capital (inclusive of treasury shares). The shares are held on behalf of a
range of clients who are each the beneficial owner of a portion of the
