Environmental Power Corporation Announces Election of Roger Ballentine and Richard Kessel to Board of Directors

PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental
Power is pleased to announce that Roger Ballentine, President of
Green Strategies Inc. and Richard Kessel, President and CEO of
Environmental Power have been elected to serve on the Board of
Directors. Mr. Ballentine and Mr. Kessel were elected at
Environmental Power's annual meeting of stockholders on Monday,
September 10, 2007, at which Environmental Power's incumbent
directors were also re-elected. Mr. Ballentine's company is built
around the concept that as the world becomes more attuned to issues
such as clean air, clean water, energy security, climate change and
resource conservation, significant business opportunities will
arise from the development of products and practices consistent
with these values. Before founding Green Strategies, Mr. Ballentine
was a senior member of the White House staff, serving President
Bill Clinton as Chairman of the White House Climate Change Task
Force and Deputy Assistant to the President for Environmental
Initiatives. In these capacities, he directed the Administration's
efforts on climate change, represented the President in numerous
international meetings and negotiations, participated at the
highest levels in the development and implementation of energy,
clean air and other environmental policy, and advised the President
on federal lands and coastal protection policies. Prior to being
named Deputy Assistant to the President, Mr. Ballentine was Special
Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs, where he
focused on energy and environment issues. Prior to serving in the
White House, Roger was a partner at the Washington law firm of
Patton, Boggs L.L.P. Mr. Ballentine also was Adjunct Professor of
Law at the Georgetown University Law Center. He has been a frequent
television and radio commentator on various matters of public
interest. In 2008, Mr. Ballentine will be a Visiting Professor at
Harvard Law School, teaching in the area of energy and climate
change. Mr. Ballentine is a graduate of the University of
Connecticut and the Harvard Law School, and is a member of the
Connecticut, District of Columbia, and the United States Supreme
Court bars. He serves on the Boards of the American Council for
Renewable Energy, the American Bird Conservancy, Biomass Energy
Resource Center, and the Solar Electric Light Fund. He is a Senior
Fellow at the Progressive Policy Institute and is an Advisory Board
member and Industry Expert for World Business Review with Alexander
Haig. In addition to the election of Mr. Ballentine, Environmental
Power's current President and CEO, Richard Kessel was also elected
