BERLIN, October 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
BBWF 2017, stand C110B,
Berlin > Ethernity
Networks (AIM: ENET.L), an innovative technology solutions provider
that develops network data processing technology used in high-end
Carrier Ethernet applications across the telecom, mobile, security
and data centre markets, announces integration of the field-proven
ENET4840z/99 with NG G.fast technology to improve transmission over
existing copper cabling and symmetrical Gigabit access. The
advancements, based on the latest ITU-T recommendations for NG
G.fast, include 212 MHz spectrum and coordinated dynamic time
allocation (cDTA), and together with the rich set of features and
ultralow power requirements of 40G ENET48xx powerful flow processor
platform make a winning combination for the market of residential
and business communications. The extremely low power consumption of
the solution is uniquely positioned for Reverse Power Feeding (RPF)
deployments.
"From Ethernity's perspective, smoothly supporting 212MHz is a
very important transition," said Eugene Zetserov, VP Product
Marketing of Ethernity Networks. - "Ethernity adds the unbeatable
small-form-factor and low power consumption to enable RPF option to
the new solution that gives the broadband market long awaited
extended access opportunities. NG G.fast will bring a new wave of
products and drive development of new technologies including
different flavors of NGPON, and as a leader in broadband data path
solutions, Ethernity is ready to support it all. The huge benefit
to our customers is that FPGA solution enables us to add new
functionalities without a new chip - smoothly supporting the new
technology" - Eugene Zetserov added.
The integration doubles the upstream performance of G.fast
solution for FTTx applications. Telecom operators will be able to
run data over fiber to multi-dwelling units (MDUs/DPUs) or
multi-tenant business sites, and use the existing site wiring for
connecting individual customers. Extending Gigabit access services
to individual customers in the fastest and most cost-effective way
is a challenge in advanced markets of the US, Europe and Asia, where competition and subscribers churn
are high. NG G.fast technology answers the challenge, and to
further reduce installation costs, RPF eliminates the need to
provision infrastructure power to the DPU by syphoning limited
power from the customer premise. For these deployments,
expected to be common, low DPU power consumption is
critical. The efficient Ethernity's solution enables ultra-low
DPUs.
To support carrier grade requirements with the high-speed data
plane, Ethernity offers a scalable solution with the new version of
G.fast Digital Front-End (DFE). The scalable ENET platform supports
DPUs with a range of NG G.Fast port configurations, including 8,12,
24 and 48 ports as well as a chassis configuration with 256 ports.
Integrated, channelized 10GbE interfaces connect directly to
the G.Fast modems and multiplex the access data to 10GbE uplinks.
The Carrier Ethernet features of the ENET4840z/99 include L2
and L3 switching, EFM bonding and flexible uplink tunnelling. The
flow processor's flexible H-QoS optimizes the use of variable speed
cDTA links with fine-grained flow shaping and scheduling. The
solution supports SDN through the Open Flow 1.3 API, extending
SDN's benefits to the access point for carriers that are looking to
SDN to reduce network Opex and improve service agility.
Broadband solutions experts from Ethernity Networks explain the
benefits and features of the ENET portfolio in detail at at BBWF
2017 in Berlin, at the
booth C110B, between 24 and 26
October 2017.
