DragonWave's AirPair Solution Gives COTA Scalable, High-Availability IP Network for All Video, Data
and Voice Services

Spanish telecommunications operator deploys DragonWave to cost-effectively converge legacy and
emerging offerings on wireless backhaul links

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 10, 2007) - DragonWave Inc. (TSX:DWI) (AIM:DWI), a leading global
supplier of next-generation wireless networks, today announced that Consorcio de Telecomunicaciones
Avanzadas S.A. (COTA), a regional telecommunications operator in Spain, has deployed DragonWave's
AirPair solution to converge legacy video and new data and voice services for subscribers in Spain's
Murcia region. COTA estimates that it has saved 67 percent in monthly recurring costs and improved
application performance by 70 percent by deploying DragonWave's technology to establish high-
availability wireless backhaul links for supporting a complete array of Internet Protocol (IP)
services.

"This new digital transport network is now the single highway from which we deliver all of our
services across Murcia," said Jose-Manuel Vericat, COTA General Manager. "We investigated a variety of
IP products for the network, but we selected DragonWave's solution because its price-performance ratio
is unmatched. AirPair is a proven, native-Ethernet solution that gives us a highly resilient ring
architecture. Plus, the DragonWave solution was quick and easy to install, and new applications and
additional capacity can be introduced simply and cost-effectively."

The AirPair deployment of 31 high-capacity backhaul links across COTA's network consists of four
interconnected rings. In this deployment, each link can be scaled to 300 Megabits-per-second (Mbps) of
capacity without interrupting existing services. DragonWave's capacity migration path allows a further
expansion to deliver more than 1 Gbps per link, all without having to change any of the radio units.
DragonWave's support for in-service scalability was critically important in COTA's choice, as the
company plans to introduce new IP-based offerings such as regional FM radio and surveillance-video
services and resell unused network capacity to local service providers in Murcia.

"AirPair enables COTA to capitalize on IP convergence. Our solution provides COTA with a powerful,
flexible and resilient foundation to cost-effectively support any current or future service," said
Alan Solheim, vice president of product management at DragonWave. "COTA's deployment of AirPair is a
new win for our solution in Spain. It strengthens our position as a supplier to the regional network
operator".

DragonWave's Horizon Compact and AirPair product operates within both licensed and unlicensed radio
frequencies in the 11-to-38-GHz range, ensuring interference-free performance for customers' traffic.
The DragonWave solutions provide scalable, ultra-low latency, wire-speed native Ethernet connectivity
up to 800 Mbps full duplex and is a highly reliable platform enabling 99.999% service availability.
The system is extremely easy to deploy and manage, with a full suite of network management options.
AirPair has indoor and outdoor deployment configurations, while Horizon Compact features a zero-
footprint, the radio and modem are integrated into one single compact out-door-unit.
