                              Pre-close Statement



China Shoto plc (AIM:CHNS), a leading Chinese producer of industrial batteries
and power supply systems, today announces that the Company, will announce its
maiden results for the year ended 31 December 2005 on Tuesday 18 April 2006.  An
analyst briefing will be held at 09:30 that same morning at the offices of
Abchurch Communications, 100 Cannon Street, London EC4N 6EU.



The Directors are pleased to confirm that net profit figure will be ahead of
market expectations.  The Directors are also very satisfied with the progress
achieved during the last financial year and are confident that a good platform
has been established for future growth.



Good progress continues to be made by the Company in the supply of VRLA
batteries for pilot 3G applications to China Mobile, one of the largest
companies in China.  In the past quarter, China Mobile's average net level of
new subscribers for basic services rose by 3.9 million a month. Ahead of 3G
licences being awarded, China Mobile and other domestic operators are preparing
for the launch of 3G services before the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.  In 2005,
China Shoto saw a doubling in product sales to China Mobile and the Company
believes that this rate of growth will continue in the current financial year.



China Shoto listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in December
2005.
