April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/
-- Powerstorm ESS (OTC: PSTO) ("Powerstorm" or the "Company")
announced today the appointment of technical expert Dr. Zi-ang
(John) Zhang to their Board of
Advisors. Dr. Zhang is a professor of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at Binghamton
University in Binghamton, NY. He
earned his Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a
concentration in control and power systems from North Carolina State University. He also holds an
M.S. degree from Purdue University and
a B.S. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology. Having written
extensively about his field of study, he is published in a variety
of areas relating to engineering. Powerstorm is confident that his
extensive experience and knowledge will prove valuable to advancing
the company's mission to "change the world with a superior product
that will enhance the quality of life for millions."
Powerstorm has also begun to explore a strategic partnership
with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at
Binghamton wherein students in the
program will be given the opportunity to supplement their education
and gain hands on learning experience by performing research and
development for Powerstorm. Students will be participating in
engineering work, including but not limited to circuit design,
communication channel set-up, and user interface development with
the assistance and guidance of advisors, including Dr. Zhang.
"We have very talented students who are eager to work on real
world problems," Dr. Zhang said, "This collaboration will provide
them a unique opportunity within the University as well as prepare
them for future careers. Based off of initial talks, I believe we
[the department and Powerstorm] have a lot of synergy."
Powerstorm's CTO and Binghamton University Senior Dr.
Shailesh Upreti shares in Dr Zhang's
excitement. "I am so pleased that these two entities will be
teaming up," said Upreti, "They are truly an excellent fit. While
the University molds the brains of these bright students, the
company will provide them with a platform on which to work and gain
experience in their field, and as a result will receive access to
their skills and their innovation."
Binghamton University
continually conducts research concerning green energy and
electronics. Powerstorm ESS has the capability to commercialize
anything that the University is working on or is developing,
helping to both bring the University's research to fruition as well
as to bring more disruptive technology to the market. Powerstorm is
committed to the betterment of its communities, including that of
students. Through this partnership, as well as the establishment of
its internship program, Powerstorm ESS hopes to improve the quality
of education for engineering students by providing more hands-on,
real world experience opportunities, but also to help prepare
students for future careers as engineers in their preferred
fields.
"This is one more piece in our continued efforts to develop and
improve our line of best in class energy storage products that
support the company's mission," said Mike
Freni, Powerstorm Holdings CEO. "We want to be able to
support not only the communities that we service with our products,
but the communities that we are based in, through education, job
and internship opportunities. We also feel that it is extremely
important to become connected to the next generation of prominent
engineers so that we can establish and secure our place as an
industry leader and authority on the latest developments in the
energy market."
While both the appointment of Dr. Zhang and the collaboration
endeavor are exciting developments, they are just the beginning of
the projected expansion, which Powerstorm expects to have in
2015.
