Thorpe as an assistant vice president and mortgage loan officer and the promotion of Benjamin C. Heminger to bank officer and senior credit analyst. He brings 27 total years of banking and lending experience to his new position; the last 17 of which were senior-level residential lending positions. Furthermore, Mr. Thorpe possesses nearly 20 years of experience in underwriting, auditing, sale and delivery of mortgage loans to the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) and correspondent banks. Most recently, he served as a first vice president for a large regional bank overseeing the management of all processing, underwriting, registration and broker out functions for its retail bank mortgage operation. A Clarkston, Michigan resident, Mr. Thorpe is a member of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association and has donated his time to numerous youth athletic programs in recent years. Mr. Heminger has served as a credit analyst in Oxford Bank's commercial banking department since joining the financial institution in April of 2000. He is responsible for reviewing commercial loan requests; including the analysis of corporate and personal financial statements, and collateral position. A resident of Lapeer, Michigan, Mr. Heminger holds a Bachelor of Science in business management from Northern Michigan University, as well as degrees from North Central Michigan College, the Michigan Bankers Association's Commercial Lending School at Michigan State University and the Perry School of Banking at Central Michigan University.
