PR Newswire (US)
COLUMBIA, S.C., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CMARK
International, Inc., (Pink Sheets: CMIT) a global provider of
facility and logistic support services for government and
commercial institutions announces today that it greatly enhanced
its capabilities to provide logistic and food service support for
national emergencies and contingencies. During the past 90 days the
company has been heavily involved with preparations and contract
agreements with Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) newly
selected Individual Assistance Technical Assistance Contracts
(IA-TAC) prime contractors, including internal readiness reviews,
training and situation exercises. The FEMA has recently as of this
past May, awarded four new IA-TAC to four major prime contractors
in an effort to support FEMA's implementation of the agency's
Individual Assistance, Direct Assistance programs as authorized by
the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance
Act. The contracts will provide support for small, mid-size, large,
and catastrophic disasters or incidents as defined by FEMA. CMARK,
utilizing its fleet of disaster relief vehicles and mobile kitchens
located in its Mobile, Alabama office along with resources from
other teaming partners is positioned and trained as one of the
leading disaster response companies in the United States for
emergency feeding operations. During Hurricane Katrina, CMARK
provided food, facilities for cooking, and served over 100,000
meals in Mississippi and Louisiana. The resources used and
personnel employed are still in place. In addition the company has
entered into and completed contractual agreements with most of the
IA-TAC III prime contractors to minimize response time should CMARK
be called on. CMARK is ready to mobilize and react from anywhere
between 24 to 96 hours depending on the requirement. "We understand
the urgency of a crisis situation and thus provide a full range of
services, from setting up huge dining facilities, to providing and
cooking food and on-site management," said, Charles W. Jones,
President and CEO of CMARK. He further added, "We believe in the
importance of maintaining high food safety standards especially in
disaster situations where sanitation is often compromised. For this
reason we have designed our own deployable kitchens to guarantee
sanitation and food safety in contingency environments along with a
well balanced menu." CMARK is ready to provide this support with
its trained management source for field feeding, different types of
kitchen options, menu variance, and HACCP systems for state of the
art food safety. Presently, our warehouse holds a stockpile of food
service equipment that includes Combi-ovens; SintPlast serving
containers; freezers and refrigerators; ice machines capable of
making 727 lbs of ice per day; folding chairs and generators. We
have the manpower and resources available for immediate response
and deployment." Quick design and construction of emergency food
service operations are facilitated by the fact that CMARK holds a
general contractor's license (license # SC 11296) and an
architect's license (license # 100153) About CMARK International,
