Bauer Performance Sports Appoints Karyn O. Barsa to Board of Directors

Experienced Executive Brings Strong Retail and Wholesale Manufacturing Expertise to Board

EXETER, NH--(Marketwired - May 1, 2014) - Bauer Performance Sports Ltd. (TSX: BAU) ("BPS" or the "Company"), a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance sports equipment and apparel, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Karyn O. Barsa as an independent director of the Company.

Ms. Barsa has led numerous global premium brands and has been a member of the board of directors of Deckers Outdoor Corporation since 2008. Barsa served as the Chief Executive Officer at Coyuchi, Inc. from 2009-13 and has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Investor's Circle and Smith & Hawken, Ltd. In addition to her Chief Executive roles, Ms. Barsa held the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Patagonia, Inc. and was the founder of HeadStart Custom Helmets. Ms. Barsa has also held financial positions with Kerr Glass Manufacturing Company, Wells Fargo Bank, Tacoma Boatbuilding Corporation and Midland Capital.
