Walmart Inc. has launched its first drone delivery airports in
Northwest Arkansas which will be able to deliver items to eligible
customers by air.
The three locations are at Walmart stores across the state, and
will be available to make deliveries for 12 hours a day, seven days
a week.
The initiative is done in collaboration with on-demand drone
delivery network operator DroneUp LLC, in which Walmart invested in
June.
"Teaming up with Walmart to launch three delivery hubs marks a
significant leap forward in the broader use of UAS to provide
last-mile consumer delivery services and supply chain efficiency
options," DroneUp's Chief Executive Tom Walker said.
