SAP said that it will create a new board area called customer services and delivery, aimed at accelerating cloud growth and adoption.

As of April 1, the new area will be led by Thomas Saueressig, who joined the company in 2004 and was appointed to the executive board in 2019, the German software company said on Tuesday.

Muhammad Alam, who joined SAP in January 2022 as president and chief product officer for the intelligent spend and business network, will succeed Saueressig. Alam will assume responsibility for SAP's product-engineering area and will become a member of the executive board, effective from April 1.

"SAP will put the power of a new dedicated board area called customer services & delivery behind the company's drive to support customers in their cloud transformation journey, accelerate innovation adoption and further increase customer satisfaction," the company said.
