Prudential to Sell Taiwanese Life-Insurance Business

Prudential Financial Inc. has reached a deal to sell its
life-insurance business in Taiwan, Prudential Life Insurance
Company of Taiwan Inc., to Taishin Financial Holding Co. Ltd.,
Prudential said Tuesday.
Prudential of Taiwan, established in 1989, focuses on
middle-market and affluent insurance customers, according to
Prudential. The sale is part of Prudential Financial's strategy to
focus its international efforts on Japan and on high-growth
emerging markets, the company said.
Prudential's asset-management business, PGIM, will stay active
in Taiwan through its PGIM SITE subsidiary, Prudential said.
