MIAMI, April 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TracFone®, one
of America's leading no-contract cell phone service providers, and
Dress for Success®, a not-for profit-organization, have partnered
to create a new program called Success is Calling™. The
program aims to help women establish a foundation for successful
careers by providing tools they need to conduct phone interviews,
make good first impressions and ultimately enter into and thrive in
the workplace.
As part of the Success is Calling program, TracFone is inviting
Walmart customers to show their support. During the month of April
at Walmart, TracFone is donating 20 percent of all handset sales,
up to $525,000, to Dress for Success
to help disadvantaged women build careers.
According to a recent survey conducted by TracFone, 92 percent
of HR managers say that phone interviews are critical to advancing
consideration of a candidate and narrowing down the pool of
applicants. Through the Success is Calling curriculum, participants
of Dress for Success' "Going Places Network" will be provided with
phone etiquette and interview skills to help prepare for the job
force. Upon completion of the program, TracFone will give women a
smartphone and one year of cell phone service* to support them
during the job interview process.
"In today's economy and job market, a cell phone is more than
just a phone, it's a crucial tool in the employment process, from
scheduling and conducting interviews to accepting job offers," said
a representative from TracFone. "We're proud to partner with Dress
for Success in the Success Is Calling program to support women with
the guidance and tools they need to excel during the interview
process, and beyond."
Additional findings from a survey of HR managers and working
professionals conducted by TracFone revealed:
- First Impression is Key: 88 percent of HR managers and
working professionals say that a first impression on a phone
interview is a key indicator of whether or not a candidate is right
for the job.
- Candidates Must be Accessible: 86 percent of HR managers
and working professionals say that if they cannot reach a candidate
within a day or two, they will move on to focus on other
candidates.
- Phone Impression Just as Important as Resume: 95 percent
of HR managers rely on phone interviews to gauge candidate
qualifications and aptitude beyond their resume.
"We're so happy to be partnering with TracFone to further our
mission of promoting the economic independence of women," said
Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress for
Success. "Equipped with knowledge from Dress for Success and a new
smartphone and national cell phone service from TracFone, together
we will help women build the confidence needed to advance in the
interview process and ensure successful entry into the professional
world."
