Sanofi SA said Monday that it has agreed to sell some brands
from its consumer healthcare portfolio in Europe to STADA
Arzneimittel AG in an effort to streamline the section.
The French pharmaceutical company said the agreement covers
registrations, trademarks and related commercial rights for 16
products in Europe.
Sanofi said it doesn't expect its European staff to be affected
on account of the deal, which it assumes will close in the third
quarter of this year.
In a separate release, Germany-based STADA said the deal
includes products like the cough remedies Silomat and the skincare
range Viscontour. It said most of the portfolio's annual turnover
was currently generated in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and
Poland.
The companies didn't disclose financial terms of the
agreement.
