Business Wire
Micronetics, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOIZ) announced today that it has been
awarded an initial production order from a major defense OEM for
high performance Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) for use on
Dual Sensor Handheld Mine Detection Systems. The Handheld Standoff
Mine Detection Systems (HSTAMIDS), combines highly sensitive metal
detection with ground-penetrating radar. This system significantly
improves the speed and safety of mine clearance operations
performed by U.S. Forces and humanitarian demining initiatives,
while enhancing the devices accuracy and ignoring false-positive
metallic clutter. David Robbins, President of Micronetics, stated,

application. We worked closely with our customer over the past
several years to develop high performance, high volume VCOs for
this type of rugged use, and expect more demand in the near
future." Micronetics manufactures microwave and radio frequency
(RF) components and integrated subassemblies used in a variety of
defense, aerospace and commercial applications. Micronetics also
manufactures and designs test equipment and components that test
the strength, durability and integrity of communication signals in
communications equipment. Micronetics serves a diverse customer
base, including Aerosat, Airspan, BAE Systems, Boeing, EADS,
General Dynamics, Harris, IPWireless, ITT, L-3 Communications,
