Experienced industry leader will further Recon’s mission of delivering products across ETF spectrum

Veteran Nasdaq executive John Jacobs, whose experience includes creating the company’s index business, has joined the Board of Trustees of Recon Capital Partners, the innovative exchange-traded fund (ETF) issuer behind the Nasdaq 100 Covered Call ETF (QYLD), the DAX Germany ETF (DAX) and the FTSE 100 ETF (UK).

Mr. Jacobs now serves as an independent trustee of Recon Capital Partners. In this role, he is a member of both the audit committee and the nominating committee.

“What attracted me to Recon Capital Partners is the firm’s forward-looking characteristics and its goal to create a first-rate investment management firm that stands out among others in the ETF industry,” Mr. Jacobs says. “I’m impressed by the firm’s track record of launching products under its own name while simultaneously offering high-quality investment managers the opportunity to bring products to market utilizing the firm’s single-point-solution ETF platform.”

Mr. Jacobs retired from Nasdaq in January 2015 after spending more than 30 years at the company. While at Nasdaq, Jacobs launched the company’s IPO team, led strategic planning and ran global information services, indices and data. Additionally, Mr. Jacobs served as Nasdaq’s Chief Marketing Officer and EVP for the Global Marketing Group from 2003 to 2013, and the EVP of the Global Index Group from 2002 to 2013. He established and built the Global Index Group from the ground up, and created one of the largest ETF fund families in the world with the launch of Nasdaq’s fund businesses.

He currently serves as a senior advisor to Nasdaq and was appointed to the Center for Financial Markets and Policy at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business as a distinguished fellow for 2015-2016. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Index Investing.

“John’s unparalleled experience as an innovator in the ETF industry makes him the ideal candidate to join our board as an independent trustee,” comments Garrett Paolella, CEO of Recon Capital Partners. “His wealth of knowledge will certainly benefit our firm as we continue to develop ETFs and partner with top investment managers who share our desire to create innovative investment solutions.”
