Low Cost Carrier Also Announces Contest Donating 100 tickets to Black Hills-Area Non-Profit Organizations DENVER, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ:FRNT) today began non-stop service between its Denver International Airport (DEN) hub and Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) in Rapid City, S.D. The twice daily service will initially be served by the 76-seat Embraer E-170. Upon Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) approval, Rapid City will ultimately be served by Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. subsidiary Lynx Aviation, with its 74-seat Q400 aircraft. However, Lynx employees will provide customer service support in Rapid City beginning with the launch of the new service today. "We're thrilled to bring low fares and non-stop service to Rapid City and the citizens of the underserved Black Hills market," said John Happ, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Planning. Frontier also begins non-stop service between Denver and Sioux City, Iowa today, and started service to and from Wichita, Kan. on Monday, Oct. 1. Frontier donates tickets to area non-profits Frontier Airlines also announced today that it will donate 50 pairs of tickets to non-profit organizations in the Black Hills community. The low cost carrier will award the tickets through an essay contest asking Black Hills-area non-profit organizations: "Which of Frontier's tail animals best represents your organization?" Frontier will announce the 50 winners on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007. "The Rapid City Regional Airport is not only glad to be bringing Frontier to the Black Hills, but we're glad to see them taking an active to roll in the region by providing this wonderful offer -- in the airline business, they truly are a 'whole different animal,'" said Mason Short, Executive Director of the Rapid City Regional Airport. This ticket giveaway is open to certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in the Black Hills community. Eligible non-profits interested in receiving two free round-trip tickets to Denver can enter online at http://rapidcity.frontiercares.com/, where they will be asked to provide basic information about their organization and respond to the essay question. The essay contest is open from Friday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 19. Members of Frontier's Community Relations team will select winners based on entrants' creativity and perceived need.
