Central Freight Selects New Plains Division Vice President; Tom Biggs, 20 Year Transportation Veteran

Central Freight Lines, Inc. (NASDAQ:CENF) has appointed Tom Biggs
to the Plains Division Vice President post. Gary McCartney,
Central's Vice President of Operations, made the announcement
today. With over 20 years experience in transportation, Tom brings
to Central a proven track-record in sales, terminal management and
customer relations. Most recently, he served seven years as
Division Vice President at USF Dugan. Prior to Dugan, Tom was a
Terminal Manager for both Overnight and American Freightways in
Dallas, TX. McCartney said, "I am confident Tom's experience in
sales and terminal management will strengthen Central as we focus
on company growth, service enhancements and cost controls." He
continued, "His enthusiasm for our company, his drive to effect
positive change and his genuine interest in customers and

Central." Biggs is based in Central's Fort Worth offices and
reports to McCartney. He works with the company's Plains Division
sales and operations teams to build new customer relationships,
increase Central's visibility and revenues in the division, and
