Russian dairy products and juice maker OAO Wimm-Bill-Dann (WBDF.RS) Wednesday said it has bought 714,123 ordinary shares, or a 1.65% stake, in the company's share capital on the open market.

"Given our financial strength and our assessment of our ordinary shares as an attractive investment, we believe that the purchase of our ordinary shares represents an appropriate use of capital that returns value to our shareholders," Chief Executive Tony Maher said.

Maher added that Wimm-Bill-Dann may again purchase shares in the open market.
