Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G.MI) said Tuesday that its
subsidiary Europ Assistance has bought 100% of Trip Mate from
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (AJG).
Trip Mate is a Kansas City, U.S.-based company that acts as an
intermediary in the U.S. travel insurance market, the Italian
insurer said.
Assicurazioni said the purchase puts Europ Assistance, which
operates in the U.S. through its subsidiary Generali Global
Assistance, among the top three travel-insurance providers in the
U.S.
No financial details about the transaction were disclosed.
