Valero Energy (VLO) Sunday said that it is restarting a
hydrocracking unit in the West Plant section of its Corpus Christi,
Texas, refinery. The unit was shut on October 7 due to a small
fire.
Alon (ALJ) said Friday that two emissions control units went off
line on Thursday. The No. 1 CEM, or continuous emission monitoring,
unit went off line after the No. 1 SCOT, or Shell Class Off-gas
Treating, unit experienced a "shutdown due to flame failure from
maintenance calibirating" the ration of air to various gases.
Related emissions lasted five hours Thursday afternoon. During this
maintenance work, feed was redirected to the sulfur recovery
unit.
Flint Hills Resources said Friday that a pinhole-sized leak of
fuel gas was discovered in the pipe systems leading to the FCCU at
its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery. The leak was promptly isolated
and stopped by 4 p.m. the same day.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said Thursday that its 198,400-barrel-a-day
refinery in Ponca City, Okla., is undergoing planned
maintenance.
Flint Hills Resources said Thursday that it plans to shut Sat
Gas Unit No. 1 at the west plant of its Corpus Christi, Texas,
refinery for "needed maintenance activities."
