MILAN--Banca Generali (BGN.MI) said Wednesday it has appointed a new chairman, Paolo Vagnone, replacing Giorgio Girelli, who resigned in July.

The company also appointed Raffaele Agrusti as a member of the board of directors, replacing Giovanni Perissinotto, former chief executive of Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G.MI) ousted by top shareholders in June.

The new chairman was already general manager and Italy's country manager for the Generali group.
