PR Newswire (US)
STUART, Fla., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- UltraStrip Systems,
Inc. (OTC:USTP) (BULLETIN BOARD: USTP) , the Stuart, Florida-based
homeland security technology company, announced that they will be
featured on WPBF News 25, the local West Palm Beach, Florida ABC
affiliate. News anchor Jon Shainman will be reporting on the
current status of the Gulf region after Hurricane Katrina's
devastation six months ago. Ecosphere Technologies, Inc., the
wholly owned subsidiary of UltraStrip, responded to the City of
Waveland, MS with its Mobile Emergency Filtration System. Waveland
was hit by the eye of the hurricane and the Category 4 and 5 winds,
plus the 40 to 50-foot tidal wave that destroyed the City and
ruined its municipal water system. Ecosphere provided clean
drinking water to the people of the City for six weeks. The feature
is scheduled to air on Channel 25 at 11:00 PM today (Wednesday) and
6:00 PM on Thursday. Mickey Donn, President of Ecosphere, said, "It
was extremely gratifying to be able to assist Mayor Tommy Longo and
the people of Waveland. The unprecedented destruction and lack of
clean water for cooking, cleaning, bathing, as well as drinking,
enabled us to be a lifeline to that community. The experience we
gained while in Waveland enabled us to develop the Tactical Water
Filtration Truck that will allow us to be even more effective in
responding to future water crises." On December 5, 2005, the
Company signed a Joint Marketing and Supply Agreement with Pierce
Manufacturing, Inc. (a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corporation,
"OSK", NYSE). Pierce will assemble the Company's mobile filtration
units into the Pierce truck chassis and body to produce the
Tactical Water Filtration Truck and will market the product through
its well- established national sales force and international
dealerships. UltraStrip produces its filtration equipment through
its subsidiary, Ecosphere Technologies, Inc. UltraStrip is a
technology firm that develops and manufactures patented equipment
to provide solutions to homeland security, military, and
environmental problems. The Company's proprietary Mobile Emergency
Filtration Systems and Tactical Water Filtration Trucks, provided
through its Ecosphere Technologies subsidiary, are breaking new
ground by transforming its powerful water-filtration and
purification technology for use in the world's most challenging
applications, including the military (e.g., for troop deployments)
and Homeland Security (e.g., to areas hit by man-made or natural
events that damage vital water resources). The Company's Mobile
Emergency Filtration System successfully operated for six weeks in
Waveland, MS following that community's devastation from Hurricane
Katrina, providing bulk water for drinking, bathing, cooking, and
cleaning purposes. UltraStrip's patented robotic water jetting
systems are designed to provide an environmentally safe coatings
removal process in both heavy marine, automobile, and above-ground
storage tank applications. The robotic systems have been utilized
for U.S. Navy ships (including the U.S.S. Cole after its attack off
the coast of Yemen), cruise ships, and tankers in shipyards
throughout the world. Additional information on UltraStrip can be
