outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Tesoro Crop. on Oct. 27 that it has ended maintenance at its
refinery in Wilmington, Cali. Planned flaring would begin at the
refinery Oct. 28 and last through the weekend, the company said.
Trade sources said the work is being performed at a crude
distillation unit and coker unit.
Marathon Petroleum Corp. said Oct. 27 shut down the No. 3 crude
unit and associated vacuum tower at its refinery in Catlettsburg,
Ky., for a weeks worth of planned maintenance. Work on the
refinery's alkylation unit continues, the company said.
Tesoro Corp. said Oct. 27 it had restarted the FCCU and several
associated units at tis refinery in Anacortes, Wash., after a
nearly month-long planned maintenance.
Total SA will extend a maintenance turnarond currently underway
at its Port Arthur refinery to around Nov. 9, a source said Oct.
26. The work on the refinery's crude unit and FCCU was originally
scheduled to finish by Nov 5.
ConocoPhillips on Oct. 24 had an unspecified unit go out at its
refinery in Belle Chasse, La., according to a filing made on Oct.
25.
Exxon Mobil Corp. on Oct. 23 reported flaring at the FCCU at its
refinery in Beaumont, Texas, noting that the problem could impact
supply.
Valero Energy Corp. on Oct. 21 said previously announced
turnaround maintenance at a crude distillation unit and a coker
unit began at its oil refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The
turnaround is expected to conclude in three weeks.
Valero Energy Corp. on Oct. 20 said emissions reported to Texas
State environmental regulators the day before were associated with
the end of some of the turnaround maintenance underway since late
September at its oil refinery in Three Rivers, Texas. Turnaround
continues at parts of the plant; restart seen in early Nov.
ConocoPhillips (COP) said units upset by a transformer fire on
Oct. 18 at its oil refinery in Sweeny, Texas, were in the process
of restarting soon after the fire was extinguished, a report to the
National Response Center, or NRC, said. The units weren't
identified and no further details were provided.
ConocoPhillips on Oct. 18 is in the process of restarting a
production unit at its oil refinery in Wilmington, California,
according to traders doing business in the region. The unit has
been identified by trade sources as a hydrotreating unit that was
shut on Oct. 10 by a small fire.
Suncor Energy Inc.'s (SU) oil refinery in Edmonton, Alberta,
will be operating at reduced rates over the next two weeks due to a
disruption in hydrogen supplies, a company spokeswoman said on Oct.
11. The disruption in hydrogen supplies occurred at a third-party
supplier which told Suncor it would be unable to supply hydrogen
over the next two weeks.
