PG&E Appoints Deborah W. Powell to Role as Vice President of Power Generation

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) today announced that
it has appointed Deborah W. Powell to the role of Vice President,
Power Generation, for the company, effective Oct. 1. Powell is
currently PG&E’s Senior Director, Substations, and succeeds Jon
Franke, who became the company’s Vice President, Health and Safety,
and Chief Safety Officer on Sept 1.

Powell will report to Steve Malnight, Senior Vice President,
Energy Supply and Policy.

Powell brings more than 28 years of corporate, energy industry
and military experience to her new role. She joined PG&E in
2010 and has served in increasingly senior leadership roles in the
company’s electric operations, fossil, hydroelectric and power
generation organizations. Prior to joining PG&E, Powell held
leadership positions in plant and facilities management at the
Lower Colorado River Authority and Dell, Inc., as well as several
leadership positions in the U.S. Navy.
During her 13 years in the U.S. Navy, Powell served in several
leadership and engineering roles as an officer. She graduated from
the U.S. Naval Academy, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in
general science.
