Stock Market Symbols GIB.A (TSX) GIB (NYSE) FAIRFAX, VA, Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB) announced today that Volusia County, Florida, has selected its web-based, AMS Advantage(R) 3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for the upgrade of its finance and human resources information systems -continuing its 20 year relationship with CGI. The two and a half year contract is valued at up to US $5.7 million. Prior to the selection, Volusia County had the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) perform a due diligence analysis to evaluate the best ERP solution available in the market. Based on the findings, the county selected CGI's AMS Advantage solution as providing the best value and functional fit for the county. "GFOA helped us analyze our needs and select the ERP solution that would best serve them," said Charlene Weaver, Chief Financial Officer, Volusia County. "The analysis resulted in AMS Advantage." AMS Advantage is the backbone of Volusia County's ERP operations. The solution enables the county to efficiently perform both their strategic planning and daily operations, such as financial planning, budget development, financial records maintenance, financial statements generation, procurement, payments, payroll processing and personnel records administration. With the upgrade to the web-based version, the County will improve performance as well as their efficiency and effectiveness in response to changing business and citizen needs. AMS Advantage will help the county streamline workflow and processes and improve management reporting. "CGI's solution provides the breadth of built-for-government functionality we need," added Ms. Weaver, "with the web-based technology we want. This combination translates into implementation and software cost savings as well as a lower total cost of maintenance for the county." The first phase of the project will integrate human resource management functions, including payroll, Employee Self Service (ESS), position control and benefits administration. Phase 2 of the project will integrate financial management functions, including budgetary controls, payment processing, a common requisition and receiving system and Vendor Self Service (VSS). "Volusia County has used AMS Advantage since 1981 for their financial and human resources operations," said Pat Colacicco, Vice-President, CGI AMS Advantage Program. "To be selected once again as their foundation for responding to changing business needs clearly demonstrates we are providing the right combination of software, services and expertise." "Volusia County is a long term client and we are pleased that they are continuing to partner with us," concurred Bob Hannum, Senior Vice-President, CGI. "Our Advantage public sector program is an important part of our public sector offering and we look forward to successfully completing this project with the Volusia team."
