              Disposal of holding in Concurrent Technologies PLC              

The Board of Close Brothers Protected VCT announces that it sold on 16 April
1999 1.5 million shares in Concurrent Technologies, representing approximately
2.1% of the issued share capital of the Company.  Following the disposal,
Close Brothers Protected VCT PLC owns 1,656,469 ordinary shares representing
approximately 2.3% of the issued share capital of the Company.
