HCCMIS Showcases the Sour Side of Sweet Tooth for American Children

HCC Medical Insurance Services, LLC (HCCMIS), a provider of
worldwide medical insurance, released an infographic detailing
sugar and health statistics for American children. Whether it is
cakes, cookies or candy, a super sweet tooth may lead to a quick
trip to the dentist, the need for worldwide medical insurance with
added dental coverage and a good brushing at the end of the day!
While some statistics will not be surprising, others detailed in
this infographic will not be too sweet when it comes to dental
bills. Statistics show ninety-six percent of American children ages
six to eleven will consume candy each year, with little difference
in consumption across age groups. These treats might leave a sweet
taste in your mouth, but sugar sometimes produces elements that can
produce dental plaque.
"We typically deal with consumers looking to buy expatriate
health insurance, but optional dental insurance coverage is another
component that people really need to consider," said Mark Carney,
CEO of HCCMIS. "The last thing you want is to be overseas and get a
tooth ache when you don't have dental coverage, because you won't
want to wait until your next time off to have it checked out."
HCCMIS developed this infographic as the final installment of
the Sweet Tooth infographic series for the company's blog. Previous
Sweet Tooth infographics included information on sugar and health
facts, candy trivia and sugar content in sweet snacks.
