WESTCHESTER, Ill., July 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE:THS) today announced that as part of its continuing integration of Bay Valley Foods, Harry J. Walsh, 52, has been appointed President of that operating company. Mr. Walsh has been Senior Vice President - Operations of TreeHouse. Mr. D. Joe Coning, 61, leaves the post of President of Bay Valley Foods to assume the position of Senior Vice President - Supply Chain at the TreeHouse corporate office. These management changes are effective immediately. "The organizational changes enable us to effectively complete the integration of recent acquisitions, maintain operating focus and continue the strategic evolution of our operations into a more powerful private label, foodservice and industrial business platform," said TreeHouse Chairman and CEO Mr. Sam K. Reed. "Harry Walsh has demonstrated great leadership directing the integration of E.D. Smith into the Bay Valley operations. His previous successful general management experience and intimate knowledge of Bay Valley Foods make him ideally suited to lead the Bay Valley Foods team. Joe Coning has done an outstanding job leading Bay Valley as we doubled its size and expanded its portfolio to soup, salsa and salad dressing. Joe will bring his extensive Bay Valley Foods operating experience to lead our ongoing strategic assessment of our supply chain and the evolution of our manufacturing and logistics platform." In conjunction with these changes, management's focus at Bay Valley Foods will narrow to concentrate on go-to-market, operations, procurement and margin improvement, as other administrative duties are transferred to TreeHouse corporate. The goal is to consolidate administrative support, such as IT and Human Resources, at the corporate TreeHouse level. TreeHouse is a food manufacturer servicing primarily the retail grocery and foodservice channels. Its products include non-dairy powdered coffee creamer; private label soup, salad dressings and sauces; salsa and Mexican sauces; jams, jellies and pie fillings under the E.D. Smith brand name; pickles and related products; infant feeding products; and other food products including aseptic sauces, refrigerated salad dressings, and liquid non-dairy creamer.
