State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) announced today that it has appointed Ronald (Ron) O’Hanley its vice chairman, effective January 1, 2017. O’Hanley remains the president and chief executive officer of State Street Global Advisors (SSGA).

With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, O’Hanley has held the position of president and CEO of SSGA, the investment management arm of State Street Corporation, since 2015. He led the Company’s recent acquisition of GE Asset Management that extended SSGA’s core investment management capabilities, including in the high growth Outsourced Chief Investment Officer markets, and enhanced SSGA’s capabilities in connection with the delivery of value-added solutions to clients. He has also been an active advocate for retirement savings and workplace coverage for all private-sector working Americans.
