KBR (NYSE:KBR) today announced that it was awarded a contract by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) to provide licensing and basic engineering services to upgrade two KRIBHCO ammonia plants located in Hazira, Surat, India.

KBR is licensing KRIBHCO its KBR PurifierTM ammonia technology as part of the revamp of the plants, making this the first time the technology has been utilized in India. In addition to technology licensing, KBR is providing engineering services to increase the capacity of each ammonia plant to 1,890 metric tons per day (MTPD) and to reduce overall energy consumption at the plants. Work on the project has begun.
