B&G Foods, Inc. (NYSE: BGS) announced today that it is
donating Maple Grove Farms of Vermont Pure Maple Syrup to U.S.
military personnel this holiday season.
B&G Foods has partnered with Operation Gratitude to provide
540,000 1.7 oz. bottles of Maple Grove Farms of Vermont
Pure Maple Syrup for inclusion within care packages for U.S.
military personnel serving in hostile territory this holiday
season. B&G Foods is providing the products as part of
Operation Gratitude’s Holiday Drive, which collects care package
goods from corporations and individuals between October and
December each year, for delivery to troops around the holidays.
David L. Wenner, President and Chief Executive Officer of
B&G Foods, stated, “It is important for individuals and
organizations to honor the men and women serving our country and
fighting for the freedoms that we have come to enjoy in this great
land. The holidays can be especially difficult for all those
serving, and so we hope that providing a little piece of comfort
from home will go a long way to show our service members that they
are remembered and appreciated.”
Carolyn Blashek, Founder and President Operation Gratitude,
added, “We are incredibly grateful to B&G Foods and all of
Operation Gratitude’s partner organizations that are willing to
provide great quantities of their products to aid the effort of
recognizing our country’s brave troops serving around the world.
Our hope is that seeing and tasting the maple syrup and other
nostalgic goods will remind troops of their own breakfast table
where friends and family will be awaiting their safe return.”

About Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, volunteer-based
organization that sends care packages filled with snacks,
entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed
to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile
regions such as Iraq and Afghanistan, and on Naval ships at sea.
Its mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s
face and express to all our Armed Forces the appreciation and
support of the American people. Operation Gratitude receives the
names of thousands of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines from
commanders in the field who see the positive impact of care
packages on their troops’ morale. The organization sends 100,000+
care packages every year during two major campaigns: A Patriotic
Drive in May and a Holiday Drive in the winter. Each package
contains donated product valued at approximately $125 and costs the
organization $15 to assemble and ship. For safety and security,
assembling of packages occurs at the Army National Guard armory in
Van Nuys, California. Since its inception in 2003, Operation
Gratitude has shipped more than 560,000 packages to American
Military deployed overseas. For more information on Operation
