DALLAS, Sept. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Science teachers
now have a new, free resource to help them quickly and effectively
bring technology-based content into their biology, chemistry and
physics classrooms. The Science Nspired Resource Center by Texas
Instruments is a collection of online lessons and tools that enable
educators to leverage TI-Nspire™ technology with ready-to-use
lessons that cover essential science topics.
Science Nspired is available to educators via an online resource
center and is organized by subjects, units and lesson modules.
Preview videos of individual lessons make it easy to browse the
variety of activities (including simulations and data collection
labs), all designed to guide students to a deeper understanding of
science concepts. Every lesson includes: teacher notes to help
prepare and deliver the lesson; TI-Nspire documents to explore
science concepts using TI-Nspire technology; and editable student
worksheets that can be used as-is or customized for their students.
The flexible lesson design not only supports an active, hands-on
approach to learning science, but also helps to promote
inquiry-based instruction. Lessons are aligned to textbooks as well
as state and provincial curriculum and assessment standards.
"Today's students are more hands-on than ever before, and we're
making it easier for students to explore challenging science
concepts in more interactive and engaging ways," said Gayle Mujica, director of Texas Instruments T³™
- Teachers Teaching with Technology™ professional development
organization. "We're providing teachers with the tools and
resources they need to teach science in a way that encourages
students to delve into concepts more deeply."
