Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) will only release the next version of its Xbox console in 2013 at the earliest, Bloomberg News reported Friday on its website, citing two unnamed sources.

The company might reveal the successor to its Xbox 360 in June 2013 at the E3 conference and release it on sale the same year, the report quoted the sources as saying.

Microsoft spokesman David Dennis said "there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon," according to the report, and declined to say when the company would release the next Xbox model, the report said.
