Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced it will offer
companies free heat stress prevention training as part of its Heat
Stress Prevention Program. This exclusive training will help
organizations improve worker productivity and keep employees safe,
specifically in the upcoming summer months.
“Cintas considers the health and safety of every employee not
only a priority but a cultural value,” said Dan Braun, Senior Vice
President, Value Improvement Initiatives, Cintas. “On our path to
becoming a world class health and safety company, we practice what
we preach - which means encouraging our partners to eliminate
unsafe behaviors and educating them to take care of themselves
through proper nutrition and hydration both on and off the
job.”
Cintas encourages businesses to take precautions to avoid the
risks of heat stress, which include heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. To preview the heat stress prevention training and offer,

interested in the program for your entire team or company, Cintas
is offering a $500 value that includes free heat stress prevention
training with a Gatorade pallet order, now available through the
end of June 2011. The free training offer is available to
businesses in three formats: instructor-led on location, DVD system
with English and/or Spanish guides and online.
The training will provide companies with specific strategies to
protect workers, including:
- The signs and symptoms of heat-induced
illnesses and what to do in an emergency
- How to recognize and provide emergency
treatment for heat-induced illnesses
- Scheduling tips to ensure heavy work is
done during the coolest part of the day
- Hydration strategies such as drinking
electrolytes at regulated periods of time
- Practical tips such as wearing light,
loose fitting, breathable clothing and taking breaks in cool
areas
“While proper hydration in excessive heat is important, it is a
necessary measure throughout the year to ensure employees are in a
position of success,” added Braun. “Not only does training in this
area increase worker productivity and reduce costs, it could
potentially save a life.”
Cintas’ blended training and compliance solutions include
online, classroom and compliance programs taught by OSHA-certified
trainers to help companies stay compliant with OSHA standards and
enhance workplace safety training. The online programs provide
increased efficiency to companies by guaranteeing 100 percent
mastery as questions are immediately reviewed until workers fully
understand the topic. Cintas also offers Blueprints for Safety®,
its step-by-step compliance and safety system that delivers simple,
complete programs developed by certified safety and health
professionals.
