SUWANEE, Ga., April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) today announced that Comcast, the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, signed a purchase agreement for a minimum of 1.2 million ARRIS Touchstone(R) Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adapters (E-MTAs) over the next two years. An E-MTA is the combination modem and phone adapter located in a customer's home, which delivers Internet Protocol (IP) voice and data traffic. ARRIS will equip the Comcast E-MTAs with battery back-up for service reliability in case of a power failure in the home.
