“Clients gave Arbor high marks for value
delivered, overall solution cost, and vendor-provided threat
intelligence”
Arbor Networks Inc., the security division of NETSCOUT (NASDAQ:
NTCT), today announced it was among the select companies that
Forrester invited to participate in its Q4 2017 Forrester Wave™
evaluation, Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Mitigation
Solutions. In this evaluation, the Arbor Cloud DDoS Managed Service
was cited as a Leader.
Highlights from the Report
- “Clients gave Arbor high marks for
value delivered, overall solution cost and vendor-provided threat
intelligence.”
- “[Arbor] rated higher than the peer
group average for its ability to defend against layer 3, 4 and 7
attacks.”
- The Arbor Cloud DDoS managed service
earned the highest score possible in twelve criteria: On-Premises
Solution, Threat Intelligence, Intellectual Property, Telemetry,
Latency, Portal, Professional Services, Service Delivery, Service
Levels, Value Added Resellers (VARs), Revenue Growth, and Current
Revenue.
“Arbor is a relatively new entrant into the DDoS managed
services business, and we are honored to have been cited as a
Leader in the new Forrester Wave™ evaluation for DDoS Mitigation
Solutions, Q4 2017. We are especially pleased that our customers
gave Arbor high marks for value delivered and overall solution
costs. Arbor has virtualized our entire portfolio and developed a
number of affordable and flexible managed service offerings to meet
the needs of any organization interested in protecting the
availability of their digital assets,” said Darren Anstee, Chief
Technology Officer at Arbor Networks.
Market Drivers for DDoS ProtectionAccording to the
report, “digital businesses depend on constant,
uninterrupted connectivity. Websites, applications and cloud
services are potential targets for DDoS attacks. Attackers may
target enterprises for extortion, hacktivism, political motivation,
competitive reasons or as part of a data breach.”
“Hybrid solutions offer the best of both”Arbor Networks
has long been a proponent of hybrid DDoS defenses as industry best
practice. According to Forrester, “many firms choose a hybrid
approach using on-premises DDoS mitigation appliances with
cloud-based services. A hybrid approach provides fast detection and
defense with low latency and the ability to utilize cloud-based
mitigation should the need arise. When attack volumes grow and
threaten to overwhelm the on-premises solution, it can signal to
the cloud provider to begin mitigation in the cloud.”
Arbor Cloud: Affordable, Fully Managed Hybrid DDoS
ProtectionArbor Cloud offers enterprise customers
affordable, fully managed DDoS protection powered by the industry’s
leading technology and backed by its most experienced incident
responders. Arbor Cloud can be deployed as cloud only, hybrid
(where the customer manages the on-premise solution) or fully
managed, with Arbor handling all aspects of a best practice
multi-layered defense.
Arbor Networks® APS can be deployed as an appliance or virtual
solution, delivering visibility into traffic entering the network,
providing always-on DDoS attack detection and mitigation up to
40Gbps. Arbor vAPS can also be deployed in Amazon’s Web Services
cloud offering unified DDoS protection for hybrid-cloud
environments. Arbor’s patented Cloud Signaling capability
tightly integrates this on-premise protection with cloud-based
defenses, automating a key component of DDoS defense and
significantly reducing the time needed to mitigate attacks. This
hybrid, multi-layer defense is an industry best practice for DDoS
protection services, ensuring that enterprise networks are
protected no matter what type of advanced DDoS attack they are
facing.
