Alliant Energy Making Upgrades to Nevada Area Gas System $180,000 in Upgrades Planned to Strengthen Reliability of Natural Gas System CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Energy- Interstate Power and Light announces it is upgrading the natural gas distribution facilities in Nevada beginning the week of April 12. The project is part of a preventive maintenance effort to replace natural gas mains and services to residential and commercial customers to ensure continued safe and reliable natural gas service. This project is part of Alliant Energy's PowerPledge(TM) program, a commitment to invest $2 billion over a five-year period in the company's utility infrastructure. The work will be completed in conjunction with Alliant Energy contractor, InterCon Construction, Inc. "As with any construction project, there will be a certain amount of disruption associated with this upgrade," says Gary Brindle, lead construction specialist, Alliant Energy.
