               Temporary management change in the Netherlands

United Overseas Group plc, Europe's largest distributor of excess inventory of
branded  consumer  products, regrets to announce that Eppe  Boersema,  a  main
board   director   and  joint  managing  director  of  its  Dutch   operation,
Intertrading  Agencies, has been seriously injured following  a  road  traffic
accident.

In  his  absence,  joint  managing  director of  Intertrading  Agencies,  Bert
Boersema,  has  assumed full management responsibility for the  group's  Dutch
operations.
