8 Surrey Street, Norwich NR1 3NG, Notification of Disclosable Interests under
the Companies Acts to the effect that following sales totalling 765,679 shares
on 5 May 2000, the Norwich Union group's material interest in Community Hospital
Group plc was as follows:-

Norwich Union Insurance Investment Ltd                 30,702
Norwich Union Pensions Management Ltd SC A/C          153,797

                                            Total    1035,677

The above holding represents 2.92% of the current issued share capital amounting
to 35,449,474.

These interests were disclosed on behalf of Norwich Union Plc (as the 
ultimate holding company of the Norwich Union Group of Companies) and the other
