Commissioning delayed
Remoted Monitored Systems Plc reports that two of the engineers
from the Lemu Group ("Lemu"), the manufacturers of the mask
manufacturing machine, who are currently working on commissioning
the Company's new machine, have tested positive for COVID-19 and
are now self-isolating for 10 days. The engineers had not shown any
symptoms and had taken the tests as part of the international
travel protocols that require airline passengers to have a negative
test 72 hours before flying. With commissioning due to have been
completed over the weekend, the engineers took their tests on
Friday morning, with the positive results received on Saturday
morning.
Pharm 2 Farm Ltd ("P2F") have reported the positive tests to
BioCity and to Public Health England ("PHE"). Three members of the
P2F team have been recorded as close contacts of the Lemu engineers
in accordance with PHE Guidelines and will need to self-isolate for
10 days. All the other staff at P2F have undertaken PCR swab tests,
with all the tests coming back negative. They can continue working
once the unit has been deep cleaned. However, without the Lemu
engineers to assist in the completion of the commissioning of the
machine, this will now be delayed until after their 10-day
quarantine period has ended and they are fit to work.
Antony Legge, Chairman of RMS, said: "It is frustratingly ironic
to be so close to the production of an anti-viral mask and to be
delayed due to these two positive cases. The lack of symptoms with
the two engineers who tested positive shows the importance of
following PHE guidelines and serves to further illustrate the
market opportunity for our anti-viral masks. Our focus on the
health and safety of employees and all visitors to our sites
remains our priority and continues to be delivered through
well-considered measures."
